DSPWTRSTS DISPLAY WRITER STATUS TAAPRTP |
The Display Writer Status command displays the status of a writer.
The printer device name must be entered. No change options are
supported. This allows typical end users to determine the writer
status without providing options to change.
The TAA command RTVWTRSTS is used which uses the API QSPRWTRI.
A typical command would be:
DSPWTRSTS PRTDEV(PRT01)
The current status of the writer would be displayed.
IPDS Printers
-------------
If an IPDS printer is used, the information on the DSPWTR subfile
display or with Option 5 (Display Writer Status) will rarely show the
specifics of the spooled file. This is due to the fact that the
entire spooled file is sent to the device and the specific
information such as the page being printed is not known.
