PRTCHGMSGD PRINT CHANGED MESSAGE DESCRIPTIONS TAAMSGI |
The Print Changed Message Descriptions command prints a listing of
the message descriptions that have been changed in a message file.
The major intent of this command is to find the message descriptions
in system supplied message files that have been changed.
The listing is based on the modification information stored with each
message that identifies the date of change. The listing provides a
list only and does not describe the detail changes that have
occurred. If the CHGMSGD command is used to change one of the
parameters to it's current value, the message is considered changed.
A typical command is entered as:
PRTCHGMSGD MSGF(QCPFMSG)
This is a long running command and should be submitted to batch.
Changing system supplied message descriptions is appropriate if
needed. However, you should keep a CL program of all changes made so
that you may run it again after installing a new release.
