RSTMNYCHG RESTORE MANY CHANGES TAARSTI

The Restore Many Changes command restores from a tape created by
SAVCHGOBJ or TAA tools such as SAVALLCHG which uses SAVCHGOBJ. The
command allows one or more libraries to be restored. See the
companion command RSTALLCHG which allows a restore of all libraries
from a tape with an optional list of excluded libraries.

You must be authorized to the TAARSTALLC authorization list to use
RSTMNYCHG.

A typical command would be:

             RSTMNYCHG DEV(xxx) LIB(aaa bbb ccc)

The libraries must have been saved by the SAVCHGOBJ or a TAA Tool
such as SAVALLCHG which uses SAVCHGOBJ. If the library does not
exist, it will be created and then the restore occurs. A summary
listing occurs.

Other comments
--------------

** You must take the default of LABEL(*LIB) on the save command
in order for RSTALLCHG to be successful.

** If SAVCHGOBJ LIB(*ALLUSR) was used, the first file output
contains the library names. This file must be bypassed with
       the SEQNBR option.

** If libraries exist that were not saved by SAVCHGOBJ (such as
that saved by SAVSECDTA), they are bypassed and noted on the
       listing.

RSTMNYCHG escape messages you can monitor for
---------------------------------------------

None. Escape messages from based on functions will be re-sent.

Command parameters *CMD
------------------

DEV The tape device name. Only a single device may be
                 named (no overlap rewind support).

LIB A list of up to 300 libraries to be restored. A
                 generic name may be used.

SEQNBR The beginning tape file sequence number. The
default is *SEARCH meaning to search for the
                 libraries you specified.

A different number should be used if you have other
files on the same tape you want to jump over such as
the first file created by a function like SAVCHGOBJ
LIB(*ALLUSR). You may also use the sequence number
if the restore was interrupted and you want to
continue or you want to begin the restore with the
Nth volume of a multi-volume save.

ENDOPT Whether to rewind the tape at the end of the
command. The default is *REWIND. *LEAVE or *UNLOAD
can be specified. The option you specify does not
take affect until the last RSTOBJ command is
                 complete.

OPTION Whether to restore all objects, new objects etc.
This is the same parameter as on RSTOBJ.

MBROPT The data base member option. The values are the
same as on RSTOBJ, but the default is changed to
*ALL instead of *MATCH. Other values that may be
entered are *MATCH, *NEW, and *OLD.

ALWOBJDIF Whether to allow object differences or not. This is
the same parameter as on the RST commands. The
default is *ALL which differs from the RST commands.

OUTPUT Whether to print a listing of the restored objects.
This is the same option as on RSTOBJ. The default
is *NONE or you may specify *PRINT. A listing to
the RSTMNYCHG spooled file (one line per library
                 restored) will always occur.

CHKSAVRST A *YES/*NO option for should the TAA Tool CHKSAVRST
command The default is *YES. The TAA CHKSAVRST
command will produce a listing of all the S/R
messages which have occurred during the job. When
the RSTALLCHG command begins and ends, a message is
sent to the job log with the CPF9898 message. This
will be picked up by the CHKSAVRST command to assist
you in determining which messages belong to the
                 RSTALLCHG command.

ERRORSONLY A *YES/*NO value which defaults to *YES. This
minimizes the number of messages that will be
printed. This parameter is passed through to the
CHKSAVRST command. See CHKSAVRST for a complete
                 description.
